Welcome to Central Coast Amateur Beekeepers
Amateur Beekeepers Association – Central Coast is an assembly of enthusiastic beekeepers based on the New South Wales Central Coast. The club aims to improve the knowledge and skills of beekeepers, whatever their experience. The very structure of our club gatherings is designed to build the understanding and confidence of all beekeepers. Meetings provide formal input and also a good opportunity for informal interaction between beekeepers at all levels of experience.
The club has a wealth of knowledge and experience available to beekeepers. Some of our apiarists have been keeping bees for many years and bring an amazing depth of knowledge and experience to the club. Others are just beginning and are keen to learn the basics.
We have an extensive library available to members on a monthly loan basis.
Club meetings are held on the third Tuesday Bi-Monthly of each month (except January) at the Erina Trust Community Hall, corner of Karalta Road and Ilya Avenue, Erina. For more details click here.
Membership: While we welcome members of the public to our meetings, it is our expectation that after two attendances, interested people will join our club as members in order to further benefit from the knowledge and experience on offer. To join the club click here.
Public Face of Central Coast Beekeepers: We can be seen at the annual Central Coast Regional Show, the Wyong Orchid Show, Kids Day Out and similar events. At these events we usually have a display of beekeeping equipment and sell honey from our club hives and the hives of our members. Other honey and wax related products such as lip balm, polishes and candles may also be on sale.
At the Central Coast Regional Show, we conduct our Annual Honey Competition. Beekeepers and members of the public are welcome to submit samples of their honey, wax products and mead prior to the show for judging. Please contact the club for details of the Competition Schedule at least one month before the Show.
